Sierra Marie Armstrong
Sierra was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and currently resides there with her fiancé and their cat. When she isn’t painting, she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and exploring the wild.
Sierra’s creative journey started like most kids with coloring books, crayons, collaging, and imagination. She received her first easel at 10 years old, sparking a love for painting. Throughout her public education Sierra took art classes often, expanding her creativity in pottery, drawing, jewelry making, and igniting an interest in all forms of art. After high school she attended the University of Anchorage Alaska, studding business, and taking few art classes throughout her time at college. While at school she began working full time and somewhere between college, career, and relationships, she stopped pursuing her artistic passions.
After 10 years of building a career in the mortgage industry Sierra realized something was missing, she felt burnt out and unfulfilled, despite being conventionally successful. Deep down she knew she had more to give this world and would eventually be drawn back to a creative life. Sierra finally took a leap of faith to pursue her artistic dreams in 2025 and started painting again.
Sierra would classify her painting style as a form of impressionism. She loves to create paintings with bright colors, expressive movement and rich texture. She favors acrylic paint, but explores many different mediums. Sierra is mainly inspired by nature, her experiences and emotions, and also enjoys exploring fantasy through her art, bringing her a sense of childlike whimsy.
Currently Sierra is growing her art career, painting often, finding meaning in her work, and creating a fulfilling life. Sierra is happily surrounded by an amazing and supportive community and endless inspiration. Following her dreams of being a painter has brought her more joy and excitement than she could have ever known, and she can’t wait to see where this path will lead.
